My partner Miriam and I decided to go with the Art Nouveau movement. Personally I like how Art Nouveau has a very flowy look to it as opposed to strict rigid shapes and structures. I took a liking to art nouveau in my sophomore year of high school when I was in this class then, I was working on using something that when you scrape the top black layer off gold shines through and I kind of naturally gravitated towards the art nouveau style. In my research I have learned that Art Nouveau was almost as a rebellion against old customs and habits. I also see that Art Nouveau means "New Art" and looking at the various pictures in seems that these artist have taken inspiration from things of the natural world in nature or in things from fairy tales and myths, to me it seems very whimsical.
